De eerste Far Cry 2 PC review is die van PCgamer. Op FarCry2World is de complete review te lezen (scans). De reviewer is werkelijk onder de indruk van de game en geeft aan na het spelen van Far Cry 2 niet meer terug te willen naar standaard First Person Shooters. Hij plaats echter tevens een paar kritische kanttekeningen..

Its that the game just works and responds to your successes, failures and fuckups. If you don't like what a guy is asking you to do, then don't do it...
