Windows 7 is het antwoord van Microsoft op het veel bekritiseerde Windows Vista.
Het nieuwe systeem zou “de beste versie van Windows ooit” moeten worden. Kernwoorden van het nieuwe systeem zijn eenvoud, betrouwbaarheid en snelheid. Vanaf vrijdag kan iedereen de software downloaden. Microsoft Windows 7 webpage

Update on Windows 7 Beta Availability

Due to very heavy traffic we’re seeing as a result of interest in the Windows 7 Beta, we are adding some additional infrastructure support to the Microsoft.com properties before we post the public beta.
