Several Dutch communities were invited to an exclusive Medal of Honor Airborne preview last Friday in Amsterdam at EA Netherlands where Medal of Honor Airborne Executive Producer Patrick Gilmore (also Vice President of EA Los Angeles) answered all their questions. Take a look:
Gilmore (2nd from the right on image below) mentioned that an august release date would be announced within 2 weeks with MP information available in about 4 weeks.
What follows is a quick translation of Himmelhund's (Opaclan.com) findings:
Directly after the introduction by Patrick Gilmore, I was the first (hehe... possibly the first non-EA employee in the Netherlands?) to play the preview level. The thing that strikes me first is that the graphics look extremely good. Way better then the screenshots I’ve seen sofar. The build we played was 4 weeks old. The ironsights look very good. I played with keyboard on XP (360 controller was also present) Normally I use a totally different key setup… so that was pretty hard. Italian map, at night… (reasonably large) spawned in the plane, which shook back and forth as a result of the anti-aircraft guns of the axis, so… jump then (you control it… walk towards the door and jump). Parachute opens up and because of the jump I became disorientated. Luckily only for a short moment. In the air you can steer the parachute. So you can land anywhere you like. I landed on a rooftop and from that moment forward the action begun. I started out shooting some Germans which naturally resulted in them shooting back.
All sort of things happening where already happening around me. When looking around you see several firefights erupting. The AI is reasonably well. As it has to be, because nothing is scripted. You start the game, where you land. I was able to shoot several enemies from where I started. Jumped off the roof after that and then things got a little hectic. I even fired on some friendlies (in spite of the no shooting icon)… lol. What follows is allot of close combat action… very cool. It didn’t take long before I was killed… (kuch, surely due to the unfamiliar key setup… kuch) After my turn I watched some of the other attendees play the game. Because everyone chooses to land somewhere else, you’ll get very diverse fights. This looks to work out beautifully for SP and probably MP as well. One of the guys even managed to jump in the church tower, Some nice skills already. All and all I’m very enthusiastic about MoH:Airborne SP. Now hoping MP will also be worth it… Thanks to Himmelhund.
